Question: Why do I need insurance?
Answer:
An unexpected medical emergency can happen to anyone and out
of pocket medical bills can easily run into thousands of dollars.
That is why it is highly recommended by "BON VOYAGE"
published by foreign affairs Canada, to buy adequate coverage
before leaving. (ICU) can cost approximately more than $3500
a day for a visitor to Canada - it does not include doctor(s)
fee and other medical expenses.
Government
health insurance plans do have limits on the reimbursement
of the emergency medical expenses incurred while in another
province. For example, air and ground ambulance costs, emergency
dental treatment and prescription drugs might not be covered
outside their province of residence. For maximum financial
protection you should purchase additional medical coverage
even while traveling within Canada.

Question:
Can I buy this coverage on behalf of my loved ones coming
to Canada?
Answer:
Yes, you may.

Question:
What is the best time to purchase the insurance?
Answer:
The best time to buy as soon as your travel plans are confirmed.
You may purchase at any time before or after the arrival of
the insured person. However, delaying the purchase may result
in some exclusions and limitations.
Questions:
What happens “after” the arrival coverage?
Answer:
If
you purchase AFTER the arrival:
- For visitors to Canada
insurance there is a waiting period for the sickness benefits
if you purchase within 30 days of arrival. After 30 days
the waiting period is extended to 8 days.
- There is NO waiting period
for accident benefits.
Please
note: any sickness that occurs within waiting period will
not be covered during the entire policy coverage period as
it will be deemed as pre-existing condition.
Make
it simple...

Question:
Do I need to pay the premium during the waiting period?
Answer:
Yes. Because the insured still has the accident medical benefits
and the sickness benefits will start immediately after waiting
period is over.

Questions:
Why should I pay for something for which I do not have coverage?
Answer:
You are paying for the accident coverage that provides protection
from day one and sickness coverage will start soon after waiting
period is over.
We
highly recommend purchasing this insurance weeks before the
intended arrival date of your loved ones this way ZERO waiting
periods for accident and sickness.

Question:
The insured is now pregnant, is there any coverage for her?
Answer: NO, The insurance company doesn’t
cover pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth or related complications.
Question: Are
there any other hidden charges or taxes?
Answer:
No. There are no other charges or taxes to buy this insurance.
Question:
The insured has not decided how long he/she is going to stay
in Canada, what do you recommend?
Answer:
We suggest that you purchase the insurance for the entire
period of the intended stay. Later on, you may either
- Extend the coverage prior
to expiry should they decide to stay longer or
- Cancel the policy should
they leave earlier and get a refund for the unused days
however an administrative fee may apply.

Question:
What are the early cancellation conditions that I need to
know?
Answer:
You can only receive a refund of the premium if: a) you cancel
your policy at any time before the effective date of insurance;
or b) you return home before the date you were scheduled to
as per your confirmation, and have not had a claim, you may
ask for a refund of the premium for the unused days of your
trip (minimum 7 days). Simply contact the insurance company
to ask for a refund and make sure you provide proof of the
date you actually returned home. An administrative fee may
apply.
Question:
How will it affect the coverage if I renew the insurance on
a month to month basis?
Answer:
Renewing your coverage month to month may be cost effective
however, we strongly suggest for you to purchase this insurance
for the entire period of intended stay in Canada as one lump
sum. Otherwise the 180 days pre-existing condition exclusion
will apply to each monthly renewal - meaning any health condition
surfaced in any monthly policy will not be covered in the
following monthly renewal and so on.
Question:
Is there any administration fee for the policy renewal?
Answer:
No.
Question:
Can I still apply for a renewal after I have submitted a claim?
Answer:
Yes, but the sickness or accident condition in the previous
policy will not be covered in the renewal insurance policy
as it will be excluded under the 180 days pre-existing condition
clause.
Question:
Would you increase my premium if I make a claim?
Answer:
No, a claim will not affect your premium.

Question: For visiting
to Canada insurance, what coverage amount do you recommend?
Answer:
There are several coverage options to choose from however
we recommend that you purchase the maximum coverage affordable
because you wouldn't like to run out of insurance money at
the time you need it the most. For example, Intensive Care
Unit cost is about $3500 a day! This does not include doctor
fees, medication, diagnostic test fees and other medical expenses.
Unexpected medical emergency bills can ruin your health and
wealth.

diabetes, high blood pressure or any other health problems,
what should I do?
Answer:

conditions clause.

but I am traveling for 45 days. Can you provide coverage for
the additional 15 days only?

up to 183 days (212 days if you reside in Ontario or Newfoundland)
consecutively, either through Single-Trip plans or Multi-Trip
